The sculptural In Symbiosis -sconces and table lights are created by Helsinki-based designer and maker Ville Auvinen. The richness of texture is achieved by applying multiple craft-processes from hand-blown and sandblasted glass to using welding in a decorative way. These blooming lights create a soft light and harmonious mood in the background, revealing the layered process when looked closer.

The scones can be placed either on wall or as a table light. Combining together the hand forged, shiny copper shades and the free-blown, organic glass parts, the lights work well as a group or as a central piece.

In Symbiosis -series embarked a journey into a more sculptural expression for the designer. With the 'In Symbiosis' lighting series he wants to challenge his own and others' thoughts on what the objects around us could be. What ties together all of Auvinen’s work is his continuing search for beauty and harmony.
