Mobile No. 93

Mobile No. 93 belongs to the 'Dialogue' series by artist Milla Vaahtera. The mobiles are all one of a kind, made of free-blown glass, glass rods and hand-worked brass. What makes them fascinating is the movement they make, when the heavy glass parts balance with the light metal.

Vaahtera began to work on this series in May 2017 together with glassblowers of Nuutajärvi. The method was based on dialogue with the glass artists, improvisation and intuition. With these works, Vaahtera wants to revive the Finnish heritage of glassblowing, on behalf of which the Dialogue series is a statement.
